Preparing to Film

Actors- We have not yet decided who will play each role for our film, but we have a general idea. We all plan to be in the film opening. Costumes- The person robbing the bank will wear all black and a black mask. The people working the bank will wear a business type outfit. Props- We will not need many props, maybe some fake money and maybe a fake gun. Location-  We will try to use Saoirse's dad's bank to fake rob one day that it isn't open. We will also go to an airport to film the robbers trying to flee the country. Dates and Times- We will most likely be filming February 8th some time in the morning. Scripts-  We don't plan on writing any scripts. We will just talk about the main idea we will cover in each scene and go from there. Film Equipment- Saoirse has a camera that we will use for filming.

Storyboard

We took a whole period deciding what each scene of our film opening would be. We worked well together drawing and writing out the storyboard, and we are excited to start filming and editing our film.

Film Opening Brainstorming

Rise- I really liked how this film opening was based on sports. I also liked the part where the music went along with the boy dribbling the ball. Also when it got louder when it switched to that player is a cool concept, but maybe if they had the music gradually get louder instead of cutting straight to the loud music would have made it flow more. Offline- This was a pretty average horror movie opening. The girl being in the cage was pretty creative though. I thought the title could have been a little more creative as well. Dear Lover- This was a cool concept for a film opening. How it went to the end so that the movie would be a flashback of how they had gotten into that position. Also the music was soft and made it enjoyable to watch. Dare to Thrill-   This was my favorite film opening by far. The music with the car was so energetic and lively. At the end of the film they open the trunk to see something inside. The camera angle coming from inside the trunk makes that scene ...

Opening Genre Inspiration

We decided to chose action and adventure because it we like thrilling movies that keep us on the edge of our seats. They are very fast paced and I can connect with them really well. One of my personal favorites is the Indiana Jones movie, Raiders of the Lost Arc . The opening of this film is considered by many to be the greatest action movie opening sequence ever shot. It starts off with Indiana Jones in the cave trying to capture the arc. He sees a pressure plate and presses it with a stick, so that he doesn't get shot by the arrow. He the approaches the arc and attempts to to replace it with a bag of sand in hopes of not setting of the trap that is most likely set under the arc. He fails and the trap is set off so him and his partner start running back through the cave trying not to get hit by the arrows firing out of the wall. His partners made it over the hole in the ground and convinces Indiana Jones to give him the arc and runs away with it. He then finds him dead around th...
