Mise-en-scene

That 70's Show One setting in the show is Michael Kelso's van. It is a green Volkswagen with  maroon leather all  over the walls and has pink carpet all the way through it. This can be seen as a representation of Kelso's out-there personality. The whole friend group is spectacle of the strange looking van at some point during the show ,but Kelso thought it was in love with it from the jump. The basement of the Foreman's house is very well lit from all sides. There is lighting coming from all directions. This is called three point lighting because it is an arrangement of key, fill, and back light lighting. All of the characters in the group can be well seen because of this lighting technique. Even if they are on different levels of the shot they are still easily distinguishable. This would be considered blocking. The characters are usually positioned in a similar spot each time the basement is a part of a scene. This is to give it a sense of meaning to each character...

Five Master Edits- Incredibles 2

Image
Simultaneity: These clips are an example of simultaneity. It shows two events happening at the same time. They show the car returning to the remote while Dash, Violet, and Frozone fight the hypnotized supers. Leitmotif: This is an example of leitmotif. The same music is used whenever a fight between good and evil is happening.    Contrast: These shots are an example of contrast. They show two opposite things. One is the supers beingevkl, and on is the supers saving the city. This is because of the goggles they have on. Symbolism: This is an example of symbolism. It cuts from the door of the interrogation room to a back of the car with the incredibles inside. The door is the thing that is the same in both shots. It is closing in the room and the back of the car. Parallelism: The two shots are parallel. They both show the supers after saving the city from the bad guys, but in the second one the town approves of it and in th...

Five Master Shots- with audio

Five Master Shots- With Audio 1) Music: I used music for my first edit. I had the bass drop when the clip changed from the footballs to the picture of me at football. I did this to make the cut more intense. The music makes the scene very uplifting and motivated as football does in general. I also used music in half of my simultaneity shot. I used it to show the contrast between the harsh storm and the calm beaches of Naples. the music is very energetic and upbeat to help show this contrast. 2) Sound Perspective: I used sound perspective for my parallelism edit. I had the "Krusty Crab Pizza" song playing like I was singing it while cooking the waffle and the singing got quieter when the microwave closed because it was from the perspective of the waffle which now had a wall in-between it and the noise. 3) Post Synchronization Dubbing: I used post synchronization dubbing for my half of my third shot. I added all of the sound after the scene was filmed. This wad just a...

Five Master Edits

Five Master Shots Video Symbolism: For symbolism I decided to use football as the main point. I zoomed in on a basket full of footballs and then cut to a clip zooming out of a poster of me celebrating during a football game. Parallelism: I used a clip of me putting a waffle into the microwave from my point of view then a clip with the point of view of the waffle being put into the microwave. Cont rast: I used a clip of my dog sleeping and a clip of him chasing a tennis ball outside. Leitmotif: I used clips from the 2018 Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl. I played shots of a crowd chanting UCF after each clip of them making a good play. Simultaneity: I used different clips about hurricane Dorian destroying the Bahamas. Each one was followed by video of the calm beaches of Naples.
